Why did you decide to participate in this portrait experience?
I love the idea of celebrating beauty at any age! Women are bombarded with messages of lack and inadequacy and these only get louder as we get older. Time to flip the script! I also love having professional family photos as artwork in my home!
What are your thoughts on aging?
Aging is a privilege! Life is all about evolution and growth, and aging is a natural part of this process. In the past, I felt less secure about aging, surprised by wrinkles and grey hair, trying to conceal them. Now, I am more comfortable with the stage of life I am in currently and less worried about appearances. Don't believe the messages in the media! It is time to celebrate and revere the senior members of our community. Beauty is an inside job.
What advice would you give the 20 year old version of yourself, knowing what you know now?
Relax. Trust and learn to let go. Don't worry so much about what others think. Focus on your relationship with yourself. Everything is happening as it is meant to. Peace, love and joy are always within you.
